About Hazel

Hazel is a Sydney-based hand knitter with a passion for warm, wearable pieces and welcoming craft learning.

From one-on-one commission fittings to relaxed knitting classes, Hazel combines careful craftsmanship with a friendly, encouraging teaching style.

She loves to help beginner knitters discover their love of knitting and making things with their hands. With a focus on natural fibres and sustainable practices, Hazel creates beautiful, functional pieces that bring joy to those who wear them.

She was originally taught to knit by her grandmother and is proud to be a part of the tradition of passing down knowledge through generations of women. Back home in Auckland, New Zealand, Hazel was deeply involved with the Auckland Handweavers & Spinners Guild. She taught multiple classes and multi-week courses through the guild and taught a series of skills based workshops at Prosper Yarn Studio in Ponsonby. She also ran a workshop for The New Zealand Fashion Museum, teaching participants to knit a peggy square to be sewn into a community blanket.
